Home is where you park it

Hello all
I've been to my first ever VW Camper van show today - 'Deva Dubs'n Rods at Shrewsbury Showground' - showing VW Campers, Beetles and Hot Rods. What a lovely time I had, so much to see.... I spent so much time looking that I almost forgot to take any pictures.... but above are a few I did take.

This weeks work so far.

Hello - I thought I'd show you a few jobs I am working on this week, I am still busy, but working to clear as much as possible before I have a few days away in July.

I finished extending a pair of curtains that I made for a customer a while back. (She had her windows replaced recently and they needed making a bit wider) - I added contrast edges and made her up a couple of cushion covers in the left over fabric. - I hope you agree that they look rather good?

My next job is already on the cutting table - I will update my blog and let you know how it turns out.

Making life brighter

I have finally finished my first attempt at an African Flower cushion.
....Not perfect but I am pleased that at least its usable .... I can learn from my mistakes.

An hour in Lancaster on Sunday and I couldn't resist a few bright bits for either my study.....

....... or my spare bedroom ...... decisions decisions.....

A week of learning new things

I've spent hours this week trying to learn several things - How to use my camera, how to use Picasa 3, how to crochet African Flowers, how to read a crochet pattern, where to buy wool, how to use facebook and how to blog. I've also managed a little of my Country Curtains work, baked a few cup-cakes and eaten the odd bar of chocolate.
It has all been very enjoyable if a little frustrating at times. Thanks to all the people who's blogs and facebook sites have helped and inspired me.

Hand-finished double-pleat headed curtains.

Up, and ready for tie-back hooks to be positioned. - The colour of this fabric looks lovely with my customer's painting.

My Crochet Attempt

Just letting you have a sneak preview of my attempts to crochet the african flower and make it into a cushion - only trouble is I'm still a bit slow and not sure I have the tension right yet but thats cos I only have one crochet hook :-( a size 5.
